The Unified Astronomy Thesaurus (UAT) is an open, interoperable and community-supported thesaurus being developed to unify the existing divergent and isolated Astronomy & Astrophysics thesauri into a single high-quality, freely-available open-source thesaurus which will be of immediate value to both research and research support, and provide a mechanism for reviewing, discussing and evaluating the continuous evolution of terminology in these fields.

A provider turns a local unique identifiers from a resource into a URI. Many providers are also resolvable as URLs (i.e., they can be used in a web browser).
The local unique identifier 0 is used to demonstrate the providers
available for Unified Astronomy Thesaurus. Some providers may use a different example, which is displayed in the table below.
