MetaCyc is a curated database of experimentally elucidated metabolic pathways from all domains of life. MetaCyc contains 2526 pathways from 2844 different organisms. MetaCyc contains pathways involved in both primary and secondary metabolism, as well as associated metabolites, reactions, enzymes, and genes. The goal of MetaCyc is to catalog the universe of metabolism by storing a representative sample of each experimentally elucidated pathway.

Pattern for CURIES

Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from MetaCyc Reaction should match this regular expression:

Example CURIE
Metaregistry MetaCyc Reaction

The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are 4 mappings to external registries for this resource with 1 unique external prefixes.

Registry Name Registry Metaprefix External Prefix Curate
BioContext biocontext METACYC.REACTION
Biolink Biolink Model Registry logo biolink metacyc.reaction logo miriam metacyc.reaction
N2T Name-to-Thing logo n2t metacyc.reaction

A provider turns a local unique identifiers from a resource into a URI. Many providers are also resolvable as URLs (i.e., they can be used in a web browser).

The local unique identifier RXN-14904 is used to demonstrate the providers available for MetaCyc Reaction. A guide for curating additional providers can be found here.
