The MEROPS database is an information resource for peptidases (also termed proteases, proteinases and proteolytic enzymes) and the proteins that inhibit them. These are hierarchically classified and assigned to a Family on the basis of statistically significant similarities in amino acid sequence. Families thought to be homologous are grouped together in a Clan. This collection references peptidase families.

Pattern for Local Unique Identifiers

Local identifiers in MEROPS Family should match this regular expression:

Example Local Unique Identifier

Pattern for CURIES

Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from MEROPS Family should match this regular expression:

Example CURIE

Metaregistry MEROPS Family

The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are 3 mappings to external registries for this resource with 1 unique external prefixes.

Registry Name Registry Metaprefix External Prefix Curate
BioContext biocontext MEROPS.FAMILY logo miriam
N2T Name-to-Thing logo n2t

Providers are various services that resolve CURIEs to URLs. The example CURIE None:S1 is used to demonstrate the provides available for this resource. Generation of OLS and BioPortal URLs requires additional programmatic logic beyond string formatting.
