The LIPID MAPS Lipid Classification System is comprised of eight lipid categories, each with its own subclassification hierarchy. All lipids in the LIPID MAPS Structure Database (LMSD) have been classified using this system and have been assigned LIPID MAPS ID's which reflects their position in the classification hierarchy.
lipidmaps
Local identifiers in LIPID MAPS should match this
regular expression:
^LM(FA|GL|GP|SP|ST|PR|SL|PK)[0-9]{4}([0-9a-zA-Z]{4,6})?$
Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from LIPID MAPS should match
this regular expression:
^lipidmaps:LM(FA|GL|GP|SP|ST|PR|SL|PK)[0-9]{4}([0-9a-zA-Z]{4,6})?$
The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are
9 mappings to external registries for lipidmaps
with
6 unique external prefixes.

Providers are various services that resolve CURIEs to URLs. The example CURIE
lipidmaps:LMPR0102010012
is used to demonstrate the provides available for
lipidmaps
. Generation of OLS and BioPortal URLs requires additional programmatic
logic beyond string formatting.
Additional providers curated in the Bioregistry are listed here.
