The BioSample Database stores information about biological samples used in molecular experiments, such as sequencing, gene expression or proteomics. It includes reference samples, such as cell lines, which are repeatedly used in experiments. Accession numbers for the reference samples will be exchanged with a similar database at NCBI, and DDBJ (Japan). Record access may be affected due to different release cycles and inter-institutional synchronisation.
biosample
Local identifiers in BioSample should match this
regular expression:
^SAM[NED](\w)?\d+$
Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from BioSample should match
this regular expression:
^biosample:SAM[NED](\w)?\d+$
The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are 6 mappings to external registries for this resource with 4 unique external prefixes.

Providers are various services that resolve CURIEs to URLs. The example CURIE
None:SAMEA2397676
is used to demonstrate the provides available for
this resource. Generation of OLS and BioPortal URLs requires additional programmatic
logic beyond string formatting.
Additional providers curated in the Bioregistry are listed here.
