BacMap is an electronic, interactive atlas of fully sequenced bacterial genomes. It contains labeled, zoomable and searchable chromosome maps for sequenced prokaryotic (archaebacterial and eubacterial) species. Each map can be zoomed to the level of individual genes and each gene is hyperlinked to a richly annotated gene card. All bacterial genome maps are supplemented with separate prophage genome maps as well as separate tRNA and rRNA maps. Each bacterial chromosome entry in BacMap contains graphs and tables on a variety of gene and protein statistics. Likewise, every bacterial species entry contains a bacterial 'biography' card, with taxonomic details, phenotypic details, textual descriptions and images. This collection references genome map information.

Pattern for Local Unique Identifiers

Local identifiers in BacMap Map should match this regular expression:
^\w+(\_)?\d+(\.\d+)?$

Example Local Unique Identifier
AP011135   Resolve
Pattern for CURIES

Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from BacMap Map should match this regular expression:
^bacmap.map:\w+(\_)?\d+(\.\d+)?$

Example CURIE
bacmap.map:AP011135
Metaregistry

The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are 3 mappings to external registries for bacmap.map.

Registry Name Metaprefix External Prefix
Identifiers.org miriam bacmap.map
Name-to-Thing n2t bacmap.map
Prefix Commons prefixcommons BACMAP.MAP
Providers

Providers are various services that resolve CURIEs to URLs. The example CURIE bacmap.map:AP011135 is used to demonstrate the provides available for bacmap.map. Generation of OLS and BioPortal URLs requires additional programmatic logic beyond string formatting.
