The Small Molecule Pathway Database (SMPDB) contains small molecule pathways found in humans, which are presented visually. All SMPDB pathways include information on the relevant organs, subcellular compartments, protein cofactors, protein locations, metabolite locations, chemical structures and protein quaternary structures. Accompanying data includes detailed descriptions and references, providing an overview of the pathway, condition or processes depicted in each diagram.

Local identifiers in Small Molecule Pathway Database should match this
regular expression:
^SMP\d+$
Compact URIs (CURIEs) constructed from Small Molecule Pathway Database should match
this regular expression:
^smpdb:SMP\d+$
The metaregistry provides mappings between the Bioregistry and other registries. There are 9 mappings to external registries for this resource with 6 unique external prefixes.

Providers are various services that resolve CURIEs to URLs. The example CURIE
smpdb:SMP0000219
is used to demonstrate the provides available for
this resource. Generation of OLS and BioPortal URLs requires additional programmatic
logic beyond string formatting.
