The Plant Phenotyping Experiment Ontology (PPEO) is an implementation of the Minimal Information About Plant Phenotyping Experiment. It lists and organises all the informations necessary to describe and reuse a phenotyping dataset following FAIR principles (Findable Interoperable Accessible Reusable). It has been initiated with experts from Elixir, Emphasis, Bioversity International - CGIAR and RDA.

A provider turns a local unique identifiers from a resource into a URI. Many providers are also resolvable as URLs (i.e., they can be used in a web browser).
The local unique identifier GPS_location is used to demonstrate the providers
available for Plant Phenotype Experiment Ontology. Some providers may use a different example, which is displayed in the table below.
