Homozygotes for targeted, deletion, and ENU-induced mutations die perinatally with liver and kidney dysfunction, hypoglycemia, and grossly altered liver mRNA expression. Mice homozygous for a mutation of this gene exhibit inappropriate bouts of activity during the light period of the circadian cycle.
